Safe Trails Whitefish will support our paths and trails through:
In 2021 the Safe Trails Whitefish was started as an Initiative of Outdoor Community Partners to help elevate citizens' voice in support of the City of Whitefish to complete missing trail sections of the Whitefish River Trail.
In 2025 activities began to ramp up with organization around developing a plan for the River Lakes area city park, advocating for the Riverbend/Miles Avenue connection of the Whitefish River Trail, gathering data to analyze all other missing portions of River Trail, and supporting the Vision Whitefish 2045 Growth Policy updates with monitoring and suggestions around safe and inclusive bike and pedestrian access and planning throughout Whitefish.
